“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don’t waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.” ~by Og Mandino

Back to Istanbul

-02Oct2008-
We shortened our journey back to Istanbul by taking the ferry in the early morning.
The air was freezing and the place was so quiet. I guessed most of the people would still lying on their warm and cozy bed on this non-working day.

The sun rose and bathed the earth in its glow.

When everybody was on the ferry…

Drinking this hot red apple tea to keep myself warm in the cabin while enjoying the view along the way back to Istanbul.

We reached at this cosmopolitan city of Istanbul nearly lunch time. Everyone was hungry. Therefore, we proceeded to a Chinese Restaurant for our lunch. This was the only Chinese restaurant that we ever had in Turkey too.
The long and tired journey gave us a good appetite especially Kris’s husband, Roy. He was so excited because he doesn’t like any western food and all the while he had been taking the instant noodles as his proper meals everyday. What a poor man! *sympathy*

We did a walk somewhere nearby the Blue Mosque after filling up our stomach. Huh… As you can see in the pictures below, the place was overcrowded. Each of us sandwiched in the crowd, trying our best to get through the area instead. *phew*

The Spice Bazaar was closed on the first few days of the fest. Therefore we just took some photos in front of the entrance.

Views from the side window of the coach...

We did a little window shopping at HISTORIAL, which is about 15mins walk from our hotel - Akgun Hotel, in this sunny afternoon.

Snapshots at the entrance of Turkish MRT station...

Guess where we were now? Shanghai night club? Hehehe~ Just keep on moving and you will know at the end….

Here came the highlight of the night – Belly Dance, one type of traditional Middle East dances performed by Turkish ladies. This is one of the shows that you shouldn’t miss when you travel to Turkey. These Turkish ladies looked so sexy, seductive and tempting especially when they threw their erotogenic stare to the audience and danced with their shimmy hip up and down and sometimes in circular motion on the platform. None of the audiences was not completely attracted to their chest and belly undulations.

Folk dance in the middle of the show…

The belly dancer in green was performing her dance while balancing the sword on her head. The dance ended with a chiffon veil for her dramatic dance piece.

Other folklore dance...

Flying knife show…
The man in red Turkish T-shirt was a MALAYSIAN. He was so brave to take the attempt in the show.
Bravo!!! Well played!! *salute*
