“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don’t waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.” ~by Og Mandino

The Land of Fairy Chimney - Cappadocia

- 27 Sep 2008 -
Underground city of Kaymakli where early Christians carved chambers and underground tunnels for the use of homes and a place of refuge during the war. It was extended underneath the rock hill for at least 8 floors with a maze of interconnecting passages. *phew*

Having dinner at Dinler Urgup Hotel after a long day journey.*fatigue*

- 28 Sep 2008 -
Exploring the fascinating Goreme Open-Air Museum at where the ancient monastic burrowed their houses, churches and chapels in these fairy chimneys. Most of the wall and ceiling of the churches and chapels were decorated with many colourful frescoes from bible too.

Visiting a local handmade Turkish carpet weaving centre to see this old Turkish art.
We were told by one of the officers there usually only the women are preferred to take this weaving job in Turkey because women are often more patient than men. That's TRUE!!! *giggle*
The work is not as easy as we thought. It is kind of very routine and tedious work but no even small mistake is permitted to happen else the whole carpet could end up to be scrapped and it would likely be a waste as it takes an ages (half or a year) to finish. Therefore, the lady workers there are encouraged to stay in good mood when they carry out their daily job. They normally work from 10am to 3pm, thus maximum 5 hours per day to ensure they get a proper rest after work. "GOOD REST, GOOD MOOD, GOOD WORK, GOOD PRODUCT" - That's what they insist and practise.

We took a hot air balloon riding with other tour members in Capadocia to get a bird's eye view of this mesmerising rocky place.
Gosh, it flew until 1800m height!! *Yahoooo*
It was windy and low temperature up there and we had never felt scared but exciting when the balloon getting higher and higher. The pilot - Mr. Volkon who dressed in army suit, had operated the balloon quite well, at least it flew with steady motion all the while during our riding. *grin*

We had cracked open a bottle of the champagne to celebrate our successful riding and landing at the end. Said cheers!!

Here were our certificates of the hot air balloon riding issued by this Kaya Ballooning Officer... *wink*
