Two New Gourmet Paradises – Arashi Shabu-Shabu & Old Town Café

Japanese cuisine (nihon ryōri, 日本料理) is always being my top favorite selection in my list. Yeah-yeah-yeah, you are right. I’m sort of incredibly fond of Japanese food. Ha-ha. I love its beautifully decorated dish because it offers a great, colorful and bright visual. Absolutely stunning. So not only my stomach; it’s in fact feeding my eyes too. *wink*

Most of its ingredients are being freshly served in a small quantity. Previously, just out of idle curiosity, I ever wondered how the Japanese could fill their stomachs with these so teeny little foods. To be honest, it seems rather like a snack than a proper meal. After that, I realize that Japanese cuisine frankly comes with absolutely great varieties and you could order as many different types of dishes as you like at the same time. So, this makes sense. This could explain why my curiosity may not be the case.

Yum-yum. Besides the nice and delicious taste, I like the way it’s being served – combination of fresh & oomph ingredients and soy-based product with the simple, healthy cooking style. Not being too oily to eat, and disgusting when having more.

Old Town Café has opened up a new branch in Indahpura, Kulai now.

Listen. It’s the first Old Town Café in Kulai. Really. I mean, it has many branches all over in Johor, most of them are located within the hot-populated areas likes JB town, Bukit Indah, Taman U, Tebrau and so on. These areas are now mostly under high development and also the concentration of most of the developers. Of cause, not to be offending, Kulai is one of the highly populated areas, as considerably-developed as other places too. The thing is most of the people here are still tended to be a bit conservative and old-fashioned, though. So it’s really astonishing when we happen to know this Old Town Group is setting up their business here.

This café is about 5 to 8 minutes driving distance from my place. Just occasionally. We carried out a little survey about the menu price here with its other branches and we’ve finally found that the price here is slightly higher than the others. We have no idea about the reason behind. But, anyway, it’s definitely given us another new choice of the dining place to hang out with next time.

Internet Line Resume Eventually

Oh-oh-oh! It’s coming back to normal finally. I expect you know what I’m talking here. If you are not, just look at the subject of this new entry and you will get what I mean.

My internet line had been broken-down since last Thursday night… or it could be the whole Thursday, I guess. I only found it out after I back home and trying to access to internet as usual after my dinner. However, I just couldn’t get in. The IE (Internet Explorer) kept showing “The page cannot be displayed”. Oh goodness. It happened again. I mean, it used to happen lately, frankly quite often and almost come to once a month or at least once in two months. I should comment this as a serious matter, shouldn’t I? Every time when it happens, it in fact makes me feel like I’m isolated from the outside world. It gives the feeling - I’m alone. You know. It’s truly frustrating.

When the every first time (as well as the following 2nd and 3rd times) I met this, I thought it was my modem and router causing my line down. I thought if they gonna be damaged by the strong lightning - this is always the common problem that people usually meet and it causing me to think that I could become one of the victims too. Therefore, I ended up to bring my modem and router to my neighbor’s place and tested them out over her internet line. Well, everything was just working pretty fine there. So, clearly the problem was not coming from my side and obviously the root cause should be on the ADSL itself.

I finally called up to the Streamyx Customer Service Center and complained them about this matter. I had even told them I was going to ask for a rebate if the line was going to breakdown for too many days. I pay for the bill every month and I should deserve a good and satisfying service that I have paid for. Doesn’t it make sense?

The operator recorded down whatever I said and apologized of any inconvenient caused to me. Well. Ok, fine. I felt better. She said she would get her technician to settle the problem as quick as possible upon my complaint. So, I assumed they had really sorted that out as what they promised, and my line went back to normal after a day of breaking-down. I was quite happy with Streamyx, just right before I change my mind.

For God’s sake, the same thing happens again and again after a few months and it appears bloody frequent lately. The latest one was starting on last Thursday. To be honest, I’m getting really pissed off to this Streamyx. It could be the time to browse for a better internet service, I think…

Our Afternoon Dessert

It’s Sunday today. It’s such a lovely day outside.

We are not planning to go out but staying at home. No hang out today. But we can still be doing some other things like reading, watching drama, blogging and surfing, instead. We just want to stay relaxed over our cozy place and spend some time to each other intimately.

Oh well, suddenly I have an idea of making an afternoon dessert for ourselves. I haven’t got an idea of what should I do. Therefore, I quickly go down and open the fridge, browsing through the stuff in there and let them to inspire me.

Ok, I’ve found a transparent box of fresh strawberries on the middle shelf and the chocolate with hazelnuts ice-cream in a plastic container from the freezer. Well, I think I have got something in my mind now. Guess what I can do with them. Do you want to know what’s exactly jumping in my mind? Well, just get moving on and on… and you will find out the answer, then.

Let's have a little prank with these strawberries. Hee hee... A smiling face to greet you. Say "CHEERS!!"

They are ready to go on.

Here we go... Our cut-into-piece-strawberries are bathing briskly in the so incredibly chilled chocolate hazelnuts temptation.

The Dragon Fruit Tree Was Blossoming Last Night

Do you know, I was a bit surprised when my sis told me that the dragon fruit tree in the backyard of our house was blossoming last night. The dragon fruit tree was FLOWERING. Oh my god. A pure white gorgeous flower was growing on the tip of the plant. Wow, it’s kind of amazing. I mean, I have never imagined that could appear in our garden and they all managed to snap it in time. Everything was out of blue. Ho-ho…

Anyway, it was really bad I couldn’t see it in person. And therefore, my sis had sent me a few of its photos, just right when it was happening last night, so that I could enjoy the miracle moment of blossoming with them too.

Here is the flower bud. It looks a bit huge.

The petals of the dragon fruit flower was slowly unfurled in the dark night.

Ooh... Look at it. The petals looked so immaculate, so delicate, as though the white feathers of a dove surrounding the pistil and the filaments. My sis told me it was about a size of a big bowl after it had fully spread out.
